I am extremely excited to share that MSc Computer Science student, Marshall Asch, has been announced as the recipient of this year’s Erin Angus Graduate Engagement Student Award.
Marshall has been working in my lab – first as an undergraduate student and recently as a graduate student – for several years. In the time that I have known him, he has used his skills to mentor students of all levels, while working to improve and support the lives of the students in the School of Computer Science, and the broader University of Guelph and City of Guelph communities.
In addition to his research, Marshall continues to serve as part of the executive of the Society for Computing and Information Sciences (the student government for the School of Computer Science), and as the coordinator for the Guelph Coding Community. Marshall sits on several School, College, and University level committees, and has offered his time freely to take part in numerous outreach and recruitment events – including the Ontario Universities Fair, and Pint Of Science Guelph.
Marshall will receive this award at the upcoming Student Experience Awards Reception, March 27th (12:00 pm – 1:30 pm).
Congratulations Marshall. This is well deserved.
